The spa town in Morrschatten where the plague started. Summer 1732 (GM).
What We Know (all GM)
- A Morschatti city famous for its hot springs and baths — a spa drawing nobles, prosperous merchants, clergy, physicians, and other visitors from far afield; unusually cosmopolitan and visitor-facing for Morrschatten. (Location was previously unconfirmed; the Western Kingdoms primer settles it.)
- Summer 1732: the plague first appears in Weissbaden — the plague that is now one of the defining catastrophes of The Troubles and has reached Averoigne (S5).
Why It Matters
The plague is one of the five great signs the Hazadi read as proof the West has fallen to the Deceiver. It has a first date and a first place now, both a year after the red sun rose.
Speculation
Of all the towns in Morrschatten, the plague surfaced in the one whose entire function is wealthy visitors arriving from everywhere and going home again — a year into a war that was already moving armies around. Nobody has said whether that made Weissbaden the plague’s origin or merely the first place cosmopolitan enough to notice and report it. If anyone ever asks where patient zero came from, the guest lists of a spa season would be the place to start.
