Ancient dwarven stronghold in northeastern Hazad, rediscovered ~30 years ago.
Overview
One of the great dwarven strongholds lost to the Wrath and the Corrupted. With Sultan Fahim’s blessing, considerable effort has gone into rebuilding and recolonizing it — sparking a resurgence of interest among Dwarves in resettling other lost holds (locations mostly unknown). The Sultan’s policy of limiting access to the site has caused friction with Clan Zum.
Speculation
Crown Prince Awad died “while exploring Dwarven Ruins to the north.” (S1) Was it Khazak Dol, or another site? Why was the Crown Prince personally exploring dwarven ruins at all? And is the Sultan’s access-limiting policy related to whatever is in there? See The Death of Crown Prince Awad.
