The Eastern Church priest who lifted the abbot’s curse — one night in his chapel, and it was done.
What We Know (all S6)
- Ismad pointed the party at him specifically as the man who could help Titus. The party went straight from Ismad to him.
- Titus had to stay in the chapel overnight. The recovery worked.
- Which means his gift is strong enough to undo a malediction laid by the thing under the Dawn sanctum — something the eastern priest in Halwa said would take “a much stronger priest.”
Why He Matters
Three things follow, and the party has not sat with any of them:
- The problem is solved cheaply. The wiki’s standing action item was “find a priest strong enough, and decide how much has to be explained to get one” — with Lusia Balventia as the awkward, politically expensive candidate. Uncle’s Men had a priest on file.
- What did he have to be told? Nobody recorded the conversation. Somebody in the Eastern Church now knows that a Hazadi noble’s bodyguard came back from somewhere with a curse on him. Ismad told the party to be quiet about the sanctums; whatever Jamar was told, Ismad chose it.
- He is a resource. A priest of that strength, reachable through Ismad, matters for anything the sanctums do to the party next — and Estelle has warned that contact with a fallen servant of the Maker marks the soul. See The Call at the Sanctum.
Speculation
The curse came off in a night. Either it was an ordinary malediction from a hostile undead after all — in which case the “it’s a soul-mark, not a curse” theory is dead — or it came off too easily and something is still there. Nobody examined Titus afterward.
