One of the Vigil of the Ten — the ten noble heroes who were to accompany the Betrayer Queen on her last mission at the climax of the Third Crusade (1446) — and of the de Tarrand family, the house of Charles de Tarrand and Visenne de Tarrand. (S7, discussed at the table; per Aaron.) Found in a Morschatti book on the Vigil, in the Balventia library.
(Canonical spelling Euglerrand de Tarrand per the GM, 2026-08-16; the session notes’ “Eublerrand D’Tarrand” is kept as an alias.)
What We Know (all S7)
- The Vigil of the Ten: ten noble heroes chosen to accompany the Queen of Morrschatten — also head of the Order of the Raven — on her last mission. What became of them when she defected to Iuz is not recorded in the notes.
- Euglerrand de Tarrand is the one name the party wrote down.
- He is of the de Tarrand family — the house of Charles de Tarrand and Visenne de Tarrand, whose family gift is Skill at Arms. (Table discussion, per Aaron)
Speculation
A de Tarrand stood next to the Betrayer at the moment of the Betrayal — chosen for her last escort, three centuries before another de Tarrand daughter served in an order destroyed for its proximity to the same buried history. What became of Euglerrand at the Betrayal is unrecorded, and it is the kind of ancestral fact a family either wears as a badge (we were loyal; she wasn’t) or buries. Visenne almost certainly knows the family story — ask her.
