Scholar of holy sites and obscure religious lore at Al-Hakim University. Introduced to the party by Master Razom, Dean of Theology.

He is a source about the Monastery of the Dawn — he has no connection to it, and nothing of the monastery’s was ever his.

What We Know

What he told the party about the Monastery of the Dawn (S3):

  • Old writings say the monastery held some number of Church artifacts; details unknown.
  • The monastery may have received a significant gift from a surviving prince of Averoigne after the Third Crusade. Baram did not know what the gift was.
  • The monastery’s disappearance was “perhaps kind of sudden,” and he knows of no church records explaining why.
  • Asked about “Sanctum” as a concept: nothing came to mind.

Separately, in the AHU library, the party found a second account of that same gift naming it a magnificent jeweled orrery — that identification came from the archives via Master Beczat al-Azari and Berdi, not from Baram. (S3) See The Monastery of the Dawn and the Orrery.
