Why He Matters
The party has spent six sessions treating Ismad as the top of their chain and Uncle as the distant patron. There is a third man, he is the heir, and intelligence work is his specialty — which means the party’s reports have been going somewhere they didn’t know about. He is also the person most likely to be running whatever Uncle’s Men knows about the West that the party hasn’t been told.
Speculation
The turnaround on the Bethlen and von-Haup material was overnight. Either Uncle’s Men keep a standing file on Morschatti noble houses — plausible for a state that trades across the Circle Sea — or somebody had already been looking at Krenau before the party brought it up.
