Not a noble — her family are merchants in the capital. Won a short-form calligraphy and poetry contest sponsored by Princess Ensah.
What We Know
- Met Gnaeus at the third gathering; clearly interested in him. (S3)

RESOLVED (GM): the name was "al-Akar" in error
The wiki had her as Safia al-Akar; the GM’s correction gives ibn-Akar. That fits Ethnicities of Hazad exactly — al- is the noble house prefix and she is a merchant’s daughter, while ibn- is the ordinary legitimate patronymic. The earlier speculation about “family pretension or a fallen house” was chasing a transcription artifact.
⚠️ One caveat: the GM’s note reads “‘Safia ibn-Akar’ should be ‘Safia ibn-Akar’” — both halves identical, so the intended correction is inferred from the wiki’s own spelling. Worth a one-line confirmation.
Speculation
Interest in a marriageable ducal half-brother can be sincere, ambitious, or directed. All three are still worth ruling out.
